Position Available: Leader of Youth Ministry

The San Jose Christian Reformed Church (SJCRC) is looking for an enthusiastic Christian to lead and develop our youth program.

  1. The Position  

    1) A staff position within the ministry framework of SJCRC – you would be supervised by the senior pastor and would report to the church Council.

    2)       Responsibilities include the following: 
         a)       Organize, oversee and participate in youth ministries (jr. and sr. high school) and assess, develop and create programs, socials, outings, annual convention and mission trips. 
         b)       Worship at our Sunday morning worship service, as well as coordinate special youth services and/or youth involvement for various occasions and holiday celebrations. 
         c)       Lead Sunday morning education and weekend evening group activities such as youth worship, small group Bible study, etc.   
         d)       Participate in personal (one-one) work with students in junior and senior high school.  
         e)       Lead, coordinate, develop and work alongside the youth ministry volunteer staff.  

    3)       This position has the unique possibility to grow and change according to the gifts of the applicant.  
  1. The Person  

    1)       Someone committed to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and to the local church as the Body of Christ.
    2)       Someone ordained or non-ordained and familiar and experienced in the Reformed faith.  
    3)       Someone with the ability to relate to teens while remaining in charge of the youth ministry.  
    4)       Someone with an exciting, energetic and igniting personality with the ability to model Christ in all walks of life.  
    5)       Someone who is a “people person”— able to work with adults as well as with teens and who has a comfortable and confident “public presence”.  
    6)     Someone with the ability to adapt and be flexible, while encouraging our youth to grow in their spiritual knowledge leading to the ability and need to share with others.

Compensation is based on the applicant’s experience and qualifications.
