Jesus told his followers that each person they served -- the lost, the poor, the homeless, the hungry - was actually a service to Jesus. “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” (Matthew 5:40). CityTeam is a nondenominational Christian nonprofit serving the poor, the homeless, and the lost in San Jose, Chester, San Francisco, Oakland, and Portland. They provide food, shelter, clothing, training, and spiritual transformation. Our church holds food drives for CityTeam and some members volunteer there.

Crossroads connects prisoners with mentors in Christ-centered relationships so that lives, prisons, and churches are restored through the Gospel. The mentors do correspondence Bible study courses with the prisoners, each sharing stories from their own lives to transform their lives through studying God’s word together.

The Christian Reformed Church emphasizes Christian education, nurturing our children, and preparing them to serve the Lord in all they do. In 1959, along with a few other Reformed churches, San Jose CRC became a founding church for San Jose Christian School (SJCS). SJCS infuses faith into every aspect of education, following a “teach, not ban” philosophy of helping the children learn to examine and look at what is in the world, and to discern what is God’s will concerning their many choices in life.

Compelled by God’s deep passion for justice & mercy, we join communities around the world to renew hope, reconcile lives, and restore creation.” World Renew is a global mission of the Christian Reformed Church that responds to disasters around the world with food, water, shelter, and help of every kind. They also work to alleviate poverty and restore peace and justice.

Homelessness is a critical, growing challenge in Silicon Valley. San Jose Family Shelter is a Santa Clara County-based organization that serves families with children, providing shelter, food, and safety-net services to homeless families. They provide support for kids and parents, moving families toward self-sufficiency, and continuing to support them after they have found permanent housing.

Our deacons set aside funds donated for the Deacons' Care fund to help our church family members and others during times of temporary need. The deacons have had the opportunity to help a large number of individuals and families with the funds. The deacons encourage you to help us meet these needs and replenish the Care fund.

We support two missionary families. We pray that the truth and grace of God’s Word will be spread throughout the entire world, across all nations and cultures.
