We call our small groups “Home Groups.” The groups meet in homes. The format is typically a light supper, then a Bible study, and finally a time of prayer and sharing. Often, we see each other only at Sunday worship services. Worshiping together is wonderful—so important—and holy! Home groups build on what we do on Sunday.
A simple definition of small groups (or in our case, “home groups”) is doing life together—our Christian life. As we grow to trust each other, we learn what’s going on in our lives, and we pray for each other. Often, we contact each other throughout the week—maybe texting each other what’s going on and asking for prayer, maybe having coffee or some other get-together. Being a member of a home group deepens the experience of being in the church family, of growing in our love for each other and for the Lord.
